As the temperatures drop in DFW, maybe you are in the market for a new coat. Walton’s Dry Goods was opening in 1917 in Garland. It was housed in what is now the Baker Furniture’s store. Advertisements for the Walton opening were splashed in the Garland News. Ladies coats could be had for $6 to $35 dollars! But be careful; in today’s money, that would be $118 to over $600 bucks.
