The holiday posts are each named after a formal dinner and its many courses. Aperitif and amuse-bouche, previously written, are fancy but common terms. The crow course is not. Especially at family dinners as I am about to admit I was wrong in a past post. Not a lot of admitting to wrong thinking at family holiday gatherings, so I am breaking tradition.

On August 20th, I posted that there are dueling Pegasuses in Dallas. That part is not quite true. There are three, but more on that in a moment. The part I *really* need to correct is which Pegasus is which. The one on top of the Magnolia building is the newest version, costing 600K and lit on January 1, 2000. The one in front of the Omni is the original one, which, after 200K worth of restoration, was lit in 2015. (I had them backwards.)

Where is the third one? Inside the Old Red Museum. You can see it up close and personal as it is mounted at eye level rather than on top of a building or oil derrick. This Pegasus was created for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and was then in use at a gas station in Casa Linda. In 2007 it was installed in the museum.

Shout out to Laura Ostteen at Dallas Filth: Raw Histoire for setting my unintentionally lying a&& straight.
