Famous Serial Killer with Ties to Dallas

Minnie Williams, a local Dallas victim of the serial killer Herman Mudgett/H.H.Holmes, completed her Boston musical studies and requested a rather large sum of money be forwarded to her on the east coast so she could start a musical revue.  After staging the revue, she returned to the Dallas area, but we know she met Herman Mudgett, aka H.H. Holmes, aka Edward Hatch (as she knew him).  Minnie is a young heiress, with property in Oak Cliff and Fort Worth circa 1893.  It is unknown if the musical revue actually happened or if Mudgett had convinced Minnie to obtain the money to fund his own pursuits.

Minnie returns to Dallas, where her name appears in the ‘out and about’ columns of the local newspapers – she visits friends in Oak Cliff, for example.  But, she does not stay long – she claims she is traveling to Denver (one article states that she owns property there too), but she ultimately ends up in Chicago, ostensibly as a stenographer for Mudgett/Holmes/Hatch.
