Famous Serial Killer with Ties to Dallas

Who is this Herman Mudgett/H.H. Holmes character?  How is he luring young women all the way from Dallas in 1893?  It was not exactly a quick and easy trek to Chicago at the time.

Mudgett was a charming and good-looking quick talker who had gone to medical school.  He appeared prosperous, running a pharmacy in Chicago while building a hotel to accommodate folks arriving for the World’s Fair.

But appearances are not as they seem.  Mudgett has a very dark side and dangerous ways of making money.
