Our previous posts dealt with the (relatively) new Pegasus atop the Magnolia Hotel that was lit to celebrate New Year’s Eve going in to the year 2000.  The Pegasus that originally stood atop the Magnolia is now restored and living in front of the Omni Hotel a few blocks over.  Both are public works of art that can be seen from the street.  However, there is another Pegasus tucked away in the area!

The Old Red Museum is host to our third Pegasus.  Within walking distance of the first two, this winged horse lives on the first floor of the museum.  You can walk in and visit it during business hours.  Added bonus – you can get within a few feet of this Pegasus and really take in the details.  Our last Pegasus was created for the 1939 New York World’s Fair.  After doing it’s duty at the Fair, it was moved to a gas station in Casa Linda (Dallas neighborhood).  It is now spending it’s retirement at the Old Red Museum where it has been on display since 2007.
