Same location, but a new building!  This photo was taken on Saturday night in Dallas Heritage Village, 1515 South Harwood, Dallas.  You are looking at the Alamo Saloon, c. 1904. Unfortunately, the Saloon is not serving up any adult beverages.  Nor has it ever.  The building you are looking at has been moved from a wee town named Snow Hill.  Snow Hill never had much of a population due to it being far from the railroad.   Snow Hill was in Collin County, near Farmersville.  One of the few businesses in town was the DB McCall General Merchandise Store.  DB McCall created this building for his new business which came to also have a barber and a gasoline pump.  This general store served Snow Hill from 1904 until McCall’s death in 1958.  Dallas Heritage Village obtained and moved the building in 1977, calling it the McCall General Store for some time but it is now the Alamo Saloon.
