Our famous serial killer, H.H. Holmes has hightailed it out of Fort Worth, leaving the workers building his new hotel unpaid. He has also made off with a large number of stolen horses. Texas law enforcement followed him all the way back to St. Louis which is when things really started unraveling for Herman Mudgett/H.H. Holmes. While serving time for fraud in St. Louis, he began cooking up new life insurance scams with his cellmate. What could possibly go wrong? Stay tuned.

I have zero proof this is where Holmes was held – but it was the jail in use in the time period – a new jail had it’s cornerstone laid in 1884, which would not have been completed in time to hold Holmes.
