The style of Old Red might be Richardsonian Romanesque, but who is the actual architect? Max A Orlopp. He was one half of the architecture firm Orlopp & Kusener out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Max was born in New York City in 1859 to German immigrant parents who changed the last name from Orloff to Orlopp. Max A Orlopp was hired all around the south for both public and private commissions.
