Famous Serial Killer with Ties to Dallas
Minnie Williams, Dallas-area heiress, travels to Chicago during the early months of 1893. She is in love with Herman Mudgett, aka serial killer H.H. Holmes. The two take an apartment together, posing as a wedded couple. Minnie wrote home that she was marrying a “Mr. Harry Gordon” (yet another alias) and that they would honeymoon in Europe until the fall. Her sister Nannie was sent for and Nannie wrote friends in May 1893 describing ‘brother Harry’. Nannie went for the supposed nuptials and to see the World’s Fair but neither her nor her sister were seen after July 5, 1893.
